James H. Maloney concentrates his law practice in the areas of estate planning and taxation. He is admitted to the bars of Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Most of his practice involves wills, trusts, estate administration and taxation.
He is experienced in all areas of estate planning and administration, including insurance trusts, transfers of assets to children, the benefits of charitable giving, and the special problems faced by foreigners living in the United States. He has represented clients before the Tax Court, the IRS, and state tax authorities. Chairman of the Taxation Section of the Virginia Bar Association from 1991 - 1993 and a member of its Taxation Council since 1985, James Maloney has been in private practice since 1976. In addition to his bachelor's and law degrees from Washington and Lee University, he holds a graduate law degree in federal taxation from New York University.
